Reduce Costs in your EV Stamping Process with KALLER Controllable Gas Springs

Increase forming control and reduce the number of dies needed to produce EV components — while minimizing production stops by using Controllable Gas Springs.

KALLER Controllable Gas Springs (KF2) are a cost-effective way to:

  • Increase EV Production Rates
  • Reduce Tooling Costs
  • Improve Part Quality

Benefit from KF2’s Advanced Control Features

  • Just one tool for two forming operations saves on tool costs.
  • Increased forming control improves component quality.
  • Tool design prevents parts from turning in on themselves when press ram returns.

Remote Automated Pressure Control for Producing High-Quality Components

Applying too high of a blank holder force for a given area of the panel prevents material from flowing into the die correctly — leading to thinning of the panel and splitting. On the other hand, if the force is too low, too much material flows into the die — resulting in panel wrinkling or buckling.

Force applied by the KALLER KF2 can be remotely adjusted to apply the exact pressure required, which mitigates these quality issues. It provides just the right amount of pressure pad force on the forming stroke. And, on the bottom dead center, the KF2 locks. So, no force is on the panel as the die opens.
